Astrid Melissa Wilson

I was born in 1984 in Oxfordshire, Britain, with French and Swedish heritage.

I am a mother to a son, with an art studio based in South Oxfordshire.

Contemporary Visual Artist

Art has always been my foundation, where I feel like myself, safe and at home.

My whole education was art and design.  I began with fashion and textiles at the London College of Fashion, then studied as a bench jeweller and jewellery design in California at the G.I.A.

I worked in London in the antique jewellery trade, then for a number of designers, including Ralph Lauren and Solange Azagury Partridge on Bond Street.

I launched my own jewellery brand and ran my business between London and Dubai for 10 years.

After motherhood, I returned to South Oxfordshire; I was finally home and returning to my true self.

“What you feel when you encounter art is uniquely yours.”

We are wired for connection and creation. Art creates space for that connection to unfold without expectation.

Through my work, I hope to foster mindfulness, and a deeper awareness of the present moment. I deeply value the practice of staying grounded in the here and now, and I find peace in observing my thoughts without judgment.

I approach art as a means to reflect and respond to these moments, gentle visual reminders.

“Really look into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

Living with mental health and trauma challenges has deepened my understanding of myself and the world around me.

Art and nature have been my greatest teachers. The earth restores, grounds, and reminds us of what truly matters.

Our planet faces profound challenges, and I believe it is our responsibility to honour, protect, and advocate for the natural world that sustains us.
