THE INSPIRATION BEHIND L.L.L.

During the winter of 2024, I was emerging from a creative block, seeking myself and breaking free from old, unhealthy patterns. It was a new chapter in my life.

My 8-year-old son went to visit family in South Africa with his father that year.  I was alone in a new cottage in a new little village in south Oxfordshire, in this new place of awakening, with a chance to stop repeating old patterns.

I started walking, and walking a lot. After that, I’d return to my cosy but empty cottage and paint when it was dark, nonstop.

L.L.L was born. My 1st collection of paintings.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE 3 L's of L.L.L.

“L” stands for Light. 
Light is the guiding force in each piece, bringing balance and clarity to the composition. 

“L” stands for Lake.  
Water is my sanctuary, whether it be the sea, rivers, or streams. But a hidden lake, in particular, carried me through my awakening. In nature, by that lake, I felt safe and rediscovered my true self. 

“L” stands for Love.  
When I slowed down, healed, and learned to feel safe within myself, I found love. First for myself, then for another.

THE LAKE represents Mother Nature; the light represents awakening and healing. This collection is my gratitude in visual form. It's a reminder that, when you choose what you truly want, it can happen with intention and a bit of effort.

THE LOTUS FLOWER symbolises purity, resilience, and spiritual awakening, rising gracefully from muddy waters to bloom in radiant beauty. It represents transformation, renewal, and the unfolding of inner light. This collection of lotus paintings captures that light, growth, and grace, reflecting strength, hope, serenity, and beauty through life’s changes.
